Purpose :

Produce a "greatest hits" version of the DID file

Procedure :

Create a new file that contains only selected DID file records. The output filename is composed of the input file specification (which must not include an extension) and the extension .DID_SUMMARY. Uses software to access the DID file that effectively reads "from the bottom", so that the most recent entry is the one that gets extracted.

If a requested record is missing from the DID file, its entry will be significantly indented, and an error string attached, so that it will stand out in the output file. Program execution will continue.

No operations are performed on the extracted records.

The records to be extracted are specified by the task parameter file. The last character in each record must be a "]" character. Comment lines may be included in the task parameter file, for documentation purposes; a comment line must start with a "!" character in the first column, and will be ignored by this program.

Click to see a sample task parameter file.

Calling Sequence :

DID_SUMMARY filespec_without_extension
[/TPFILE=
[/DEBUG]
