· McLean and Rosenberg attended the AAS meeting in Seattle

· Amy Rosenberg graduated (with honors) from Towson State University.

· Supported several tours of plate vault and GS operations area

Project Management and Technical Infrastructure

· CASB servers had downtime for application of service packs following SQLserver attack.

MISSION SUPPORT

HST Operations

· Investigated 8 bad guide star alerts.

· Continued to develop software to update the keywords of the header files.

· Delivered GSC 2.2.1 and access software to NGSS software development team to support HUGS2 planning and development.

· Rectangular field query tool in development

NVO Development Studies

NGST Development Studies

· Discussed strategies for obtaining deeper target images to update GSC-II as JWST guide star catalog.

DIGITIZED SKY SURVEY

Plate Scanning

· Continued scanning the POSS-I O (blue) survey plates.

GAMMA Microdensitometer Systems

· GAMMA1 and GAMMA2 continues to operate smoothly.

Data Compression/CD Production

· Completed identification of corrupted DSS data on NAS and almost completed data replacement and verification

· Developed revised plan for image archive media migration.

GSC-II

COMPASS Database

· As of 31-Jan-2003 the COMPASS database contained 1,053,282,021 unique object index entries. At this time 6034 GSC2 plates are loaded and 5684 GSC2 plates are matched.

Plate Processing

Calibrations

· Latest version of GSPC2 has been delivered from OATo and is being loaded into COMPASS

· All available reduced GSPC2 CCD frames at STScI have been loaded onto NAS raidarray – identifying where missing data is located (OATo and/or GEMINI)
